Who does not make mistakes……….

Sayings, Quotes: Mahatma Gandhi | Photo Quoto

Jacob and his wife went to the Church every Sunday for an early morning mass and every time he had this habit of switching of his phone before he entered the Church.  One Sunday as they were getting late, Jacob forgot to switch off his phone.  As soon as the mass started it was to his bad luck that his phone rang in the Church by accident during prayers. The Pastor scolded him.  The worshippers admonished him after prayers for interrupting. His wife kept on lecturing on his carelessness all the way home. His co-vineyard workers shook their heads in disgust. You could see the shame, embarrassment and humiliation on his poor face. He never stepped foot in the church again.

That evening, Jacob was so disgusted that to pacify himself, he went to a drinking bar. He was still very nervous and trembling at what had transpired. He spilled his drink on the table, bottle falls by accident and it splashed on some people.  Those it touched rushed towards him. He closed his eyes expecting bashing of words or slaps.  Instead they were concerned to know if he did not get a cut from the broken bottle. The waiter apologized and gave him a napkin to clean himself. The janitor mopped the floor. The female manager offered him a complimentary drink. She also gave him a huge hug and a peck while saying, “Don’t you worry man. Who doesn’t make mistakes?”

He has not stopped going to that bar since them.  From this we can surely understand that sometimes our attitude as believers drives our souls to Hell.  We can all make a big difference by how we treat people especially when they make mistakes.  If we cannot be a bridge connecting people, then we must not be a wall to separate them. If we cannot be a light to brighten peoples’ good deeds, then do not be darkness covering their efforts. If we cannot be a pencil to write anyone’s happiness, then try to be a nice eraser to remove their sadness.

We can always be each other’s keepers, let us resolve to heal the world and make it a better place. Inspire Someone Today. Send Love and kindness to each and everyone and Be Humble and Humane.

  1. Great story Kamal dear friend..it’s all about mercy..if we treat people with harsh hearts and hard words..we will not manage to teach them or learn from them..giving others excuses and other chances is a must indeed..no one is infallible except Allah..
Keep writing my dear friend 🌹

    1. I completely agree with your profound words, Sohair and no one is above God we are all human beings and make mistakes. We must look upon people with love and kindness and not judge them at all. Thank you so much dear. Much love and hugs to you.

      1. This moment give us time to ponder upon ourselves… but still people like me don’t utilize the time…

Nature has come to its beautiful look giving each one a lesson tgat don’t brood upon the unnecessary. Hold and capture only what is really needed. Life is unpredictable

  2. What a powerful post and message Kamal. No matter what we should always try to be the best children of God we should be. No one is perfect, no not one. If God wanted us perfect He would have made us that way. Compassion, patience, and love is what we need, and need to be 🙂 LORD, thank You for continuing to bless Kamal 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for these wonderful and true words, Margaret. I completely agree with you we are all God’s children then why do we judge anyone and it is completely okay if people make mistakes. We are all humans. Love and Kindness is what is really needed.

  3. Beautiful. Our reaction to a persons/children’s mistake, can make or break them. If we scold or berate a person on a mistake, their confidence is shattered. A request to all those who deal with children, not to admonish them when they make mistakes.
An eye opener, Kamal. Thank you for the post.

    1. Thank you so much for your valuable words, Deepika. I completely agree with you why judge anyone and disappoint them or mar them for life. Ya children need to be handled with care and not admonish them so that they will lose their confidence.

  4. absolutely stunning, my all time favourite Kamal … too often self-righteous people drive others away … that’s why many with faith wont enter the bricks and mortar!

And I can always be much kinder ❤

    1. Yes dear Kate I completely agree with you and that is what has happened today no one is allowed to go anywhere but stay home and we need to pray to who we are everything is within us nothing is outside of us. This story shows how these self righteous people treat a person who is not good for them. Thanks for your kind words ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    1. Yes dear Cornelia I completely agree with your valuable feedback. Who are we to judge when we ourselves have flaws. We must always have a peaceful mind and be happy and kind to everyone. Thank you so much. Stay safe and take care dear.

  5. I absolutely loved this! So many times in our lives we judge a person without realising the adverse effect it can have on somebody and again who are we to judge when we are ourselves flawed. This reminded me of the parable from Bible when a group of men had gathered to stone a woman who was accused of adultery and then Christ very solemnly replied only those who haven’t ever sinned can stone that woman. Even in life we carry the airs of ‘holier than thou’ without even thinking that we are all imperfect.

  6. Very true Kamal. We all make mistakes and we should be forgiving and accepting especially when it is us making the mistakes. The best thing about mistakes is trying to learn from them.

  8. How I loved this story, Kamal. Judgement anywhere hurts. And to receive kindness and compassion is what the heart wants. Many “religious” are the very first people to condemn another which I find to be not only hypocritical, but cold. For this reason alone, I now avoid churches. I dare to think outside the box whereas those in a certain religion tend to think in very restricted ways. Not all, I am speaking of, so no offense please. I’m basing my words on both personal experience and observation. xo

    1. I completely agree totally with your valuable feedback, Amy. I too am not a person who likes to go to any place of worship. Temples, Churches, Firetemples, Mosques are all in us we need to understand ourselves better and Pray to Him who is our One God for his love and grace. Why degrade someone for his or her mistake. Thank you so much dear. Stay safe and take care.

  9. Beautiful story. That’s often when we all make mistakes. Unintentional things happen and that can happen with anyone. With whom it have occurred already knows he have made a mistake and on top others mistreat the person which is even more wrong. At this moment the person needs support.
What happened with the man in bar was very natural.
CO incidentally the story shared by you Kamal is well related to the recent post I have shared.

    1. Thank you so much dear Tanvir for your valid feedback and I completely agree with you. Who does not make mistakes we all do but why blame or degrade someone for their mistakes. At this very moment we all are needing support and love and kindness. Tanvir I have already commented to your recent post but I am seeing in my wordpress that it lying like that only. Do let me know whether you have received it or not. This WordPress sometimes has lot of spam going on. Our Kate too is having a lot of problem with her comments.

    2. Yes Tanvir I completely agree with your valuable feedback and both our recent posts are pointing out to why point out people’s mistakes and spoil their spirits for life. Going to the bar where the man enjoyed immensely and no one pointed out his mistakes is more better than going to Church and people being so stoic and angry. Thank you so much. This WP also creating problems for all.

    1. I am so grateful and happy to know you found this post so appealing. Same here Mich, this story was so inspiring and yes this para was so true to itself. If we cannot be all these things then we have no right to judge anyone for their mistakes. We are all imperfect, no one is perfect. We need to understand people with love and kindness. Thank you so much dear Mich for your valuable feedback. Much love and light to you stay safe.

      1. I also would like to add that i am glad you highlighted two kinds of people (churchgoers and bar workers) with two different ways of perceiving mistakes..sometimes it saddened me to know that the ones (churchgoers) we thought should have better understanding and compassion are the ones who judge and condemn quickly.

      2. You know Mich the people who go to church are more egoistic then a common man who does not believe in religion but in the presence of the one God who is in everyone irrespective of religion that is the one who knows what it is to not judge anyone for his mistakes. Going to church, temple, mosque is not where you find God but in being selfless and compassionate towards all. That is knowing who God is. Thanks dear once again for these valid words.

      3. Thanks dear Mich. We as humans have separated our God and kept him in boxes and say our religion is superior but God is One and we are all One and he says simply love me for who I am. This is my world, my creation and you are all my children but we have not taken him seriously and fight that no my god is superior to yours and have created wars, and hatred and what not, Mich and have destroyed ourselves as well as the earth. See what we humans have come down to, God must have just raised his one finger at creation and see what havoc is going on in the world. We have become very selfish dear the day we have selflessness in us that day our world will be a beautiful place for all.

  11. Wonderful story, Kamal. You’re right that we all make mistake not only one or twice but many time throughout the years. All we can do is to keep trying to avoid doing it. It’s dangerous when kids don’t get approval and understanding from the parents. The kids may fall into the wrong hands as you described in the story.
