Two Boxes………..

I came across this beautiful poem on TWO BOXES and it reads like this:

I have in my hands two boxes

Which God gave me to hold.

He said, ‘Put all your sorrows in the black box,

And all your joys in the gold.’

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes

Both my joys and sorrows I stored

But though the gold became heavier each day

The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black box

Cause I wanted to find out why

And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole

From which my sorrows had fallen out

I showed the hole to God, and mused,

‘I wonder where my sorrows could be!’

He smiled a gentle smile and said,

‘My child, they’re all here with me….’

I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,

Why the gold and the black with the hole?

‘My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,

The black is for you to let go.’

We must consider our family and friends

As a blessing and just to let them know

That they are a joy in your life

And you are always thinking of them

A treasure that is granted by God to me.………

    1. Yes I completely agree with your beautiful words, Sohair he is so merciful that he would not like to see us suffer at all. Have made the changes in my poems that I have separately kept with me in my computer as you have rightly pointed out. Thanks blessings to you dear.

  2. Always beautiful. Gratitude so important and important to let go of the sorrow. We could do this by throwing each sorrow in the rubbish bin, and write our gratitude in a book to review. Such a beautiful post so beautiful. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you Kamal for always sharing such great posts.

    1. Thanks so much dear Bella for your motivating words and I completely agree with you. Yes we all need to write gratitude in a book and review it every day and God is so benevolent that he takes away all our sorrows and throws them into a box with holes. Thanks dear.

      1. Amen. Yes, indeed, you are welcome! The Lord knows what He is doing. It is up to us to entrust Him with it, allowing him full access. God has granted unto us full accessibility. The choice is ours. Thank you 🙏

  3. Nice story, dear Kamal – thanks for sharing 🙂

I would like to add something to it: As God is living in everyone, in each heart and has His temple, His residence there, we should even feel the blessings from all people, not just only from friends and family, means if we see God in all – then we can also feel the blessing from all… When our love is a selected love, just because of seeing the man in them alone and not seeing God in them, then we cannot love all, then we love only a few, but if we love God in all then we love all, not just a few. When we think of God, we can find Him everywhere around us – because there is no place, where God is not…

    Thanks again, dear Kamal 🙂
Blessings to you, to your family and every person, every animal, every plant…wherever the life-impulse is present…

    1. Yes I completely agree with your words Didi, why only friends and family everyone we see is God, but I shared someone else’s poem so could not write my words. Thanks so much for your awesome feedback. Blessings to you too and your family from our beloved God who is in all of us. Yes and God has blessed his entire creation too🙏🙏🙏🙏
