Choose Your Echo……….

A man was taking his son out for a walk in a nearby forest. Suddenly the boy tripped and feeling a sharp pain, he screamed, ‘AHHH!’ Surprised, he hears a voice coming from the mountain, ‘AHHH!’ He was taken aback as it was his first experience of an ECHO.  Filled with curiosity, he screams: ‘Who are you?’, but the only answer he received was, ‘Who are you?’ This made him angry, so he shouted, ‘You are a coward!’ and the voice answered, ‘You are a coward!’

He looked very confused at his father and asked ‘Dad, what’s going on. Who is he who is talking back to me?’ ‘Son,’ the man replies, ‘pay attention. Say something nice to him.’ Then the son screams, ‘I love you!’ the voice answers, ‘I love you!’  Realizing his son’s confusion the man takes over the conversation with nature and shouts, ‘You are wonderful!’ and the voice answered, ‘You are wonderful!’ The boy is thrilled but still cannot understand what is going on.

The father further explains, ‘Son, people call this an ECHO, but truly it is LIFE. Life always gives you back what you give out. Life is a MIRROR of your actions. If you want more love and kindness from everyone, give more love and kindness. If you want people to be patient and respectful, then be patient and respectful first. This rule of nature applies to every aspect of our lives. An Echo is nature’s way of teaching us to do unto others what we wish them to do to us and wish for others what we wish for ourselves.

Life always gives you back what you give out. Give your hands to Serve others and your Hearts to Love. Your life is not a coincidence, but a mirror of your own doing. Choose your ECHO wisely.

Live Simply, Love Unconditionally, Enjoy Life.

  1. Oh Kamal! This is so powerfully beautiful and poignantly true… It has brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart! Thank you so very, very much for this! I really needed to read this today … It is an excellent reminder to me that, amidst all the rancor and confusion and prevalent hostility in our world, I may still choose my own positive, hopeful and loving echo. Blessings to you

  2. Soooooooo true!!! LOVE this story! Recently someone acted very nasty and mean towards me. I knew this was not about me rather about the hurt in this person’s own Heart. So, deliberately without a word of what I was doing, I left little gestures of kindness that this person would find. This person became confused knowing how much hurt had been hurtled my way and wanted to know why I had done what I did. I said in reply I am practicing Love for the person who will recognize Love for what it is and mirror the very same to me. Since then, the nasty episodes have been minimal, decreasing a lot. So yeah, the mirror really works!
