A Layman’s Advice too counts…………

An Engineer in a car manufacturing company designs a world class car. The owner is very impressed with the outcome and praised him a lot.  While trying to bring out the car from the manufacturing area to the showroom, they realized that the car is 2 inches taller than the entrance.  The Engineer felt very bad that he did not notice this fault before creating the car.

The owner was completely baffled as to how will he be able to take it outside of the manufacturing area. The painter said that they can bring out the car but there will be a few scratches on top of the car which could be touched upon later.  The Engineer said that they can break the entrance, take the car out and later re-do it. The owner was not convinced with any of these unwise ideas and felt like it is a bad sign to break or scratch any part of his new car.

An ordinary watchman of the building was observing all the drama from the side and slowly approached the owner.  He wanted to give an idea if they had no problem. They wondered what this guy would tell them that the experts could not give. The Engineer said to the two people, ‘Why not let us see what input he too can give us’. The watchman said: ‘The car is only a few inches taller than the entrance so, simply release the air in the Tyre, the height of the car will sink and you can easily take it out.’  Everyone clapped and said, ‘What a smart and intelligent guy is he. How could we not think like him?’

In life do not analyse the problems only from an expert point of view alone.  There is always a layman’s outlook that gives an alternate solution at a given point of time. Why undervalue anyone whether big or small. Everyone is worth their while. Life issues are also the same. Many a times a friend’s entrance door falls short by a few inches, we feel taller.  Release some Air(Ego), and adjust the height (Attitude).

Think simple, do simple and live simple because first and foremost we are happy souls. Share, care and respect one and all.

I’ve witnessed this in my own life, whether it was an ordinary student in school, a simple layman in church, an average resident in the group home, etc. Yes, indeed, we should never “undervalue anyone whether big or small,” because, as you say, “everyone is worth their while.” Thank you for this well-written and enlightening article!     1. Thanks dear Jonathan and I totally agree with your words. Even I have witnessed many a times. These people can do much better than us why underestimate them. Everyone is one and there is no difference it is only in the way we see them. Blessings to you too dear.

  9. Great story dear Kamal! Sometimes the solution is so simple and right in front of our faces and we cannot see it with our complex ways of overthinking things. Even children can come up with amazingly simple solutions because they’r e more in tune with their inner compass and intuition. The ego always plays a game of feeling superior and “know it all” undermining other’s opinions. Great lesson dear friend! ❤

    1. Yes absolutely sometimes in life anyone can give you proper advice be it elders or children but we with our inflated egos shun them away as rubbish. This story was so apt with how we need to behave with each and every one as all of us are one. Thanks for the beautiful comment Amira.
